In 2013 a team of RAF personnel completed the inaugural running of the SBU wearing full kit and boots and carrying 30lb packs. Sadly one of the team had to drop out of the event after sustaining an injury, but the two remaining members made it to the finish (minus a few toenails!).
This inspired the creation of this record of achievement, to both : capture the results of other 'Service' teams that take on the same challenge and to raise money for service related charities. (1)

The rules are simple :-
- Teams must be of at least two members and consist of serving, or ex-serving personnel, in a recognised Service.
- All members of the team must carry a 30lb pack, which can include the event's mandatory equipment.
- All members of the team must complete the event whilst wearing service issue boots
- The combined total race time of the fastest two finishers of each team, will be recorded in the table below.
- All other rules of the SBU35 event are maintained
In recognition of the effort put in by these teams the organisers of the SBU undertake to:
Donate 20% of each team member's entry fee to the ssafa.(1,2)
Donate £100 to the ssafa(1,2), for any team setting a new overall record
Donate £50 to the ssafa(1,2), for any team setting a new service record

1. Whilst money from the above challenge, according to the rules above, will be directed to SSAFA, it should be noted that this event is not in any other way, associated with that charity.
2. Invitations from other services, outside of the Armed Forces are welcomed to apply and on approval, other charities may become beneficiaries from the efforts of those individuals.
